Posted on June 19, 2018 at 7:20 AM

Consider joining Dianne, for any of these hikes in June. These are a wonderful way to get out and enjoy our wonderful SE Wisconsin natural areas!

Friends of Vernon Marsh

Below are 3 hikes I have scheduled for June. More for July and August will be coming in the near future. Please RSVP for specific dates, and I will send you direction details. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Winged Wonders Hike: Wednesday, June 20 @ 9-10:30 AM --- All of our winged things are active, and now is the time to find them! Join DNR Staff at Tichigan Wildlife Area in Racine County to search for birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and other winged wonders of Wisconsin. Dress for the weather; bug spray and ankle boots are suggested. Some walking in tall grass may occur. Dogs are allowed on this hike, but must be on leash. Program is free and open to the public.

Wild Edibles Hike: Tuesday, June 26 @ 9-11 AM --- We are surrounded by nature’s kitchen, if we only know what to look for! Join DNR staff at Havenwoods State Forest in Milwaukee to identify wild edibles that you can harvest on public and private lands in Wisconsin. Dogs are not allowed on this hike. Program is free and open to the public.
